In this tuning manual, we will be covering the process of scaling for different injector sizes for Bosch Motronic with Port Injectors. This manual explains the function logic behind the maps we change, how we change them and also provides mathematical formulas to calculate calibration constants.
A good way to understand which Bosch control unit(s) have port injectors, and which ones do not, we can see below:
• ME(D)9.1 / ME(D)17.1 are both Direction Injection engines as denoted by the ‘D’
• ME7, ME9, ME17 are all Port Injection engines as they are NOT denoted by the ‘D’
Tuning for larger injectors is essential when upgrading complimenting hardware such as the turbocharger, intercooler, or even changing fuel type.
